Je peins pour exprimer ma présence au monde. Comme les mains couvertes de pigments sur les parois des grottes, la peinture me permet de me connecter à mon corps et à l’espace dans lequel je me trouve. Dans mon travail, je m’intéresse à la peau, terre de contact entre le moi et l’environnement. L’endroit où nos émotions affleurent et où la vie s’inscrit à sa surface. La peau garde une trace. Il en va de même pour le papier, un matériau qui se déploie sous plusieurs formats dans mon travail.

Depuis 2019, je développe une pratique murale basée sur le collage de papier. Je cherche à répondre de manière sensible à l’espace, et propose des muraux spécifiques aux lieux qui m’accueillent. Le dessin, la peinture et l’architecture se rencontrent. Parfois, je présente ma peinture dans des espaces inhabituels tels que des couloirs, des cages d’escaliers, afin de créer une nouvelle relation et un nouveau point de vue entre l’espace et le spectateur. La peinture devient un corps dans l’espace.
Mon besoin d’entrer en relation avec l’espace, m’amène à travailler avec des ocres et des pigments naturels. Les ocres, produits de la terre, se retrouve dans les architectures naturelles et humaines, une présence colorée, qui accompagnent toute la création.

Dans mon processus de peinture, la couleur, touche, démange, caresse. Entre frottement et brossage, les couleurs s’entremêlent, formant une peau sur le papier.

Statement

I paint to express my presence in the world. Like the hands covered in pigment on the walls of caves, painting allows me to connect with my body and the space in which I find myself. In my work, I’m interested in the skin, the point of contact between the self and the environment. The place where our emotions surface and where life is inscribed on its surface. The skin keeps a trace. The same goes for paper, a material that unfolds in several formats in my work.

Since 2019, I have been developing a mural practice based on paper collage. I seek to respond sensitively to space, and propose murals specific to the places that welcome me. Drawing, painting and architecture come together. Sometimes I present my paintings in unusual spaces such as corridors and stairwells, in order to create a new relationship and a new point of view between the space and the viewer. The painting becomes a body in space.
My need to enter into a relationship with space leads me to work with ochres and natural pigments. Ochre, a product of the earth, can be found in natural and human architecture, a colourful presence that accompanies all creation.

In my painting process, colour touches, itches and caresses. Between rubbing and brushing, the colours intermingle, forming a skin on the paper.
